Everyone who has ever been in Italy knows what I mean by talking that every Italian uses them. It's just a part of their temperament. The extensive usage of some unidentified gestures may be misleading. When I have arrived in Italy for the first time, it was slightly annoying that everyone gesticulated for some unknown reason. Of course, I had known that Italians are really emotional and they like displaying their feelings. But would it be possible to do it this much?

Fortunately, a bosom friend of mine has explained all the Italian-gestures politics to me. You can express almost everything with a nonverbal communication. I have even seen a movie, on which people were talking only with their hands arranged.

Have a look at the must-know gestures. They are shown at the pictures below. The first most significant as well as notorious is "what?", also known as... vaffanculo. Please look this one up, because I am not going to explain this. Another worth attention sign is "finito", what means that something is finished, also not anymore. An instance of a totally incomprehensible gesture for me is the gay one as it is expressed with poking your ear.

Right, they have even a direct gesture as a suggestion for... you know what.

How to not to fall in love with Italy?

P.S. Hey Italians! If you're reading this piece and you see some mistake - please let me know! I look forward to your feedback :)
